Vineyard History
-
In the spring of 2000, the first three acres of commercial Bellview grape were planted.
We started with Chambourcin, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Chardonnay, along with
small test plots of over a dozon varieties.
-
In 2001 we planted seven more acres of Lemberger, Traminette, Cabernet
Franc, Merlot, Syrah, Viognier, Niagara, and Fredonia.
-
Five more acres were planted in spring of '02; including Pinot Grigio,
Muscat Ottonel, Sangiovese, Tinta Cao, and Touriga Nacional.
-
2003 saw the planting of seven more acres with 5 different varieties
of grape, including Cayuga and Pinot Blanc.
-
In 2004 we planted 2 more acres of Cabernet Sauvignon.
-
In 2005 we brought our vineyard up to a total of 35 acres
and 20 different varieties by adding more Traminette and
a new planting of Vidal Blanc.
-
By 2008 we were so happy with the test wines produced from our single row
of Petite Verdot that we planted another half acre of it.
-
In the spring of 2011, the ground finds itself filled with another 2 acres of vines including our
newest variety Sauvignon Blanc.
